The start of a healthy new life!!

So this is my first attempt at a blog, ever, so bare with me if it seems a bit amateur!! lol
I've decided once and for all that I need to lose weight. I'm currently carrying about 55-60Kg more than what I should be so now is the time and I'm going to attempt to keep a blog about my weightloss journey to keep myself accountable!!

So to begin, a little about me......

I am 25 and live in Melbourne, Australia and am working full time doing admin based work.
I have been overweight or obese for a veerrryyy long time......probably since I was 9 or 10 I would say??
I have attempted just about every weightloss program you can think of : weight watchers, jenny craig, sure slim, celebrity slim...the list goes on! I have lost weight doing all of these programs but obviously none have helped me keep the weight off!
This time round I have decided to keep things simple (and not mention a lot cheaper!!). I am using calorieking.com.au to keep track of my daily calorie intake, exercise and water. I've only been using it for 5 days but so far so good and I couldn't recommend it enough!

So far I haven't had any major cravings or anything which is a plus and very strange! lol.
Last night I went out to a Japanese restaurant for dinner and only ate half of the food that was on my plate rather than polishing off the whole thing so I was very proud of myself for that!

Anyway that's enough for my first post! hehe

  1. Hi! Just saw one of your forum posts and thought I'd check our your blog :)

    You've made a great decision, I've been on CK for about 9 months and I've lost 15kg so far (with a few hiccups!!)

    Blogging is a great way to get all that stuff out of your head that frustrates you... Good on you for putting it all out there!!

    If you can keep with the healthy eating, the cravings go away... unreal as it sounds, it's all in our heads :)

  3. Congrats on taking the first step. :)
    Blogs are a great way of letting off steam & also recording your journey.

    I honestly don't know if I could have lost the weight that I have without the help of CK and my cyber friends.

    It is hard...it's not suppose to be easy but you will feel so much better for it.

    I would definitely reccommend enrolling into Calorie King University. I learnt so much through that.

    I've done week one of the CK university thing, seems to be pretty good so far!
    I know it's not going to be an easy road but as they say....you didn't put the weight on overnight so you're not going to lose it overnight!!
    I feel so good about things this time round, just really focussed and determined to get there this time. I think because I am doing it because I want to whereas every other time it has been my mum pushing me to lose weight.
    Nobody pushed me this time, I decided that I wanted to do it for myself and I think that's the most important thing.
    Will try and update this thing as often as possible!
